TREATING RUFF N SMOOTH’s “TIME CHANGES”

The two, Ruff N Smooth shared a lot of passionate stories with 18.com, as we paid them a visit during their video shoot of ‘Time Changes’, a song on their new promotional list.
In short Time changes is a song from our hearts, we put our soul into composing, recording and shooting the video, apart from it being an advise background for everyone, it is a story on how we climbed the ladder of success, they both said accidentally.
Akan popularly known as Smooth said, “People often forget that every great achiever started from somewhere, and it normally takes a long journey to reach your destination”
Bullet also popularly known as ‘free Kick’ or Ruff also added that, ‘The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step; personally, I have spent not less than a decade in the music business.’
He continued saying, I remember in the late 90’s when Obrafour came out with ‘Pae mu Ka’, I was there, I have spent everything I had to record a song but never had a major hit’.
Indeed the song recorded by Ephram Musiq, titled ‘Time changes’ is really a reflection or a mirror of the artistes.
Iwan, the lyrical gunshot might looked as if he just came into the game, but he (Iwan) was also passionate when he said, “When I was a little boy, my mother always taught me never to give up in everything I do and that has brought me this far’.
He stressed on that, ‘he was into beat producing first, later he came into the music thing and realize that it was not going well, so he went back to the beat producing’.
Finally with advice from some friends and family, he decided to do both, but focusing more on the music and today he is the lyrical gun Shot of Ghana.
Simply put, keep on keeping on in life on anything you want to do. Identify your talent, passion and interest, Iwan and Ruff N Smooth’s final words to the whole of Ghana, especially their fans.
Ruff N smooth as a way of saying thank you to God for how far he has brought them, have recorded a thank you song titled ‘Hallelujah’, the video will be out soon for all to have a feel.

Always remember, a journey of a thousands miles begins with a focus, determination and total dedication, our wise saying to confirm the success story of Ruff N Smooth.

“NANA BOROO’S MUSIC DREAM CRASHED!

Never under estimate the words of Presenters, DJ’s and show producers when they say, ‘if a song is good we will air it for all to hear’, that was the way ‘Aha ye de’ by Nana Buroo was handled.

The song was good, the timing was so right and the engineer, we believe was Kill beat; he did a thumbs up work on that song, but what about S K Blinks, his input could not have been left out, so perfect.

But once a upon a time in the history of Ghanaian music, there lived the quick hit makers whose hit song was well received in the industry but they could not sustain their level of success in the game after being Blessed with a single hit.

Nana Buroo unlike other musicians in the Hip Life game paid very little in terms of dues (Hustling to find rhythm) in the industry, while others went through ‘hell’ from DJ’s and radio station presenters, he on the other hand had it a bit smoothly.

The radio stations in and outside the capital jammed the song to the fullest, giving it, it’s needed airplay just because after playing it once, the demand for that song goes high by listeners.

So the hit was not seen coming; the industry game was very open and from no were came the song “Aha ye de” by Nana Buroo ft S. K. Blinks.
The very first time “Voice of Mid Morning Accra” Sammy Forson played that tune, he introduced it as the official song for the Easter Festivities and that, was the truth, “Aha ye de” by Buroo, instantly became a hit, a popular tune nobody dare went against in April.

Nana Buroo won the harden hearts of Ghanaian music lovers who will not easily move to a swift beat, even when it is danceable just because the artiste is in question is new.

The artiste became hot in the game, there was no event that did not have his ‘TAG’, the song was used for majority of voice overs in the country, for once, we saw a particular network using a song constantly, during their promotion.

But more was expected from Nana Buroo, all the stages Nana Buroo performed on during his hit days, have all being ‘CRASS’. His stage performances are nothing to write home about, and at certain times his appearance has also been a problem apart from his appearance during the GMA’s, the TV3 festival train inside the central region was bad.

Apart from his sleaze performance what else will make Nana Buroo survive the music industry. We have witnessed a lot of other artistes having a break through with a hit single and not following it up with other hits.
After several months of great success with a hit single, Nana Buroo, is likely to join to the trace of ‘Deeba’, Keteke, G-life, Jay D (the highlander) among others, who have nothing to show after a great success with a hit breakthrough, if he does not prove his critics wrong.

Does this also confirm the fact that the artiste in question, Nana Buroo is not a musician but can be described as someone who has love and desired to be like his role models?
His reign as a musician is over; the new single is doing so bad with air play as compared to the first one. What will do the magic for him with his second single, a song he sang on ETV’s late night celebrity show, formally known as celebrity soccer show.
Well if Deeba, among others are now back and struggling to have a stand in the game because it has change so much and it keeps on growing day in, day out, Nana Buroo should use that as a pillow, it should always serve as a reminder.

4RINA, GURU PASS TEXT AS RUFF N SMOOTH STEAL SHOW.

It was a long but successful journey as 4RINA, the ladies entertainer, Guru, the GH rap soldier and Ruff N Smooth; the Swagger boys did justice to the University of Mines, Tarkwa (UMAT) stage on Friday night.
The anticipation was on, fans of Tarkwa were in a desperate anxious mood waiting to see, smell or hear the body, scent or voices, respectively of the Empire Entertainment Soldiers, as every radio station called to have a feel of what is coming their way.
The Empire Entertainment soldiers were well received, they spent little time on themselves as every fan and radio station in Tarkwa wanted a piece from the soldiers.
Guru, 4RINA and Ruff N Smooth passed through Diamat Fm among others in the Western region to announce their presence in Town. As if Fans had an idea the logging area of the soldiers, as they had already tripped to the Morning Star hotel before the stars from the green building could arrive after their radio interviews.
It was a tough war for the organizers in getting the artistes from the hotel to the venue of the event, but was fortunate when the crowd gave them the benefit of the doubt and rushed back to the venue just to have a close glimpse of the artiste performance.
4RINA mounted the UMAT stage first, being very new in the music industry the ladies entertainer was well received in Tarkwa. The crowd yield with him throughout the performance of ‘IGWE’.
The freestyle specialist GURU followed up with so much power, the crowd chanted, shouted and did everything they could to get a touch of him, as he performed, Democracy 1, ‘Me Ye Me’ among others.
Every freestyle was not new to the crowd, the flowed with him as he sang his songs one after the other. To confirm their command on his songs, the crowd did PRINCESS, a song that featured PV all by themselves, with just an introduction from the artiste.
MC: ‘She get swagger, the other words did not follow from her again the shout was also on, this time with so much intensity, the anger, anxious and aggressive mood of the crowd showed the MC that they can’t wait to host Ruff N Smooth, hence she introduced the Swagger boys.
Songs like Monalisa, Sex Machine and Swagger are old songs in Tarkwa, to the artiste’s dismay, the students and people of the town wanted to hear, Hallelujah, Azingele, and any new one.
Bullet of Ruff N Smooth shouted, Azingele! Everybody at the event responded to it, the artiste performance was on point, they involved the crowd and made sure they (students /people) enjoyed their paying to watch them.
The show couldn’t have ended well if pictures, artistes and fans relationship was not established. The pictures came in sequence, a long queue awaited the stars, everybody wanted a memory with the artistes.
Pictures and autographs were the order of the day, even though it made them warn out, especially the Swagger boys who had to return to Accra for the Milo Marathon, they did justice in signing and snapping all pictures.
An interesting journey on their way back, they felt very satisfied with their performance, being the first time in Tarkwa and getting this results showed a bright future for all of them.
Get ready for the Empire Entertainment soldiers as they can be in your region, campus or community soon.

REGGIE ROCKSTONE AND SARKODIE FIGHT OVER TOP SPOT!

Let do this quick review of Ghanaian music videos produced so far in the year, we are basing our judgment on good concept, camera angles and, movements, story line and locations.
As usual the team went out to find out from people who, and what music video, they think is the good, the bad and the ugly.
We did not give any songs out to the people we interviewed on Oxford street; we allowed music lovers and followers to come out from the shell and judge constructively.
The team budged into two beautiful ladies in front of Frankese ice cream joint and this is how they judged the good, bad, and ugly video so far for the year.
Tina from Zenith College said, ‘I believe 2010 has being an interesting year when it comes to music in Ghana, so judging the good, the bad and ugly is so funny. Anyways, the ugly video for me is R2Bees Kiss your Hand, the bad, Irene ft Asem, Run away and the good will be Sarkodie’s Borga.
Tina’s friend went straight ahead and said, ‘the ugly video is Eazzy’s Wengeze, the bad is Richie’s Yaaro and the good is Reggie’s Madafo ft KwabenaMafia.
So with that response we moved on towards the MTN office area, stood infront of the office and spoke to this gentle that refused to tell us his name but claimed he works with MTN inside their phone shop.
He told us, ‘my ugly video so far in 2010 will be, Mzbel’s who is calling (here we did not get the video but we realize he meant Mzbel’s video shot by OM), he continued as ‘my bad will also be R2Bees kiss your hand but the good will be sarkodie’s Lay way.
Nana Asare, came up to us upon following us from frankesse to the MTN office and wanted to know what we are asking people, so we did and Nana Asare, a trader on the Oxford street was delighted to share with us what he thinks.
His opinion was in Twi, but the team did some translated into English, so this is what he said, ‘to me I don’t know what is a bad video and a good one. I simply believe Nana Buroo’s ‘Ahayede’ and reggie’s Madafopaa are nice videos.
Still inside Oxford street the team spoke to two more people, one Rasta guy, who sells directly opposite the MTN office, his selection, ‘my ugly video is Mugu by one Akoo Nana, the bad is VIP’s video ft F O I and D flex, the good is still VIP but this time their video AWAY and I THINK I LIKE AM’.
The last lady the team spoke to was inside Shenails, a beauty salon for ladies, that was a deliberate move to find out from a very different crowd.
Instead of a lady, every one there wanted to share an idea on the topic, this was the finding. Some of the girls voted for Trigmatic’s Jolley, Reggie’s Madanfo paa, and Sarkodie’s Lay way videos to be their Best, their bad was Richie’s Yaaro, R2Bees Kiss your hand, Mzbels’ song, Nana Buroo’s Ahayede and their ugly was.
This is our good the bad and ugly videos produced so far in the year;
Majority of videos on Crystal TV are cont counted because they are ugly videos, just like Kiss your Hand by R2bees.This song made our ugly video list because it lacked a good concept, story line and directing.
Then also our bad videos are in ranges, the first range is some of the videos like Run Away by Irene ft Asem, lacked some concept, storyline and locations.
Mzbels, Ruff N Smooth’s Swagger, Trigmatic’s My Life, Nana Buroo’s Ahayede, Akoo Nana’s mugu and VIP’s AWAY, Samini’s Sweet Mistake, all lacked story lines, concepts but had their locations on point plus good camera works, they also make up our bad videos list.
Reggie’s MadafoPaa, Sarkodie’s Borga, Trigmatic’s Jolly, VIP’s I think I like am, D Black’s somebody make up our good video list for the year so far.
Ghanaian music is growing year by year, we know there are some others videos that were not mentioned here, readers are advised to submit their videos that did not make our list, it can be the good, the bad and the Ugly.

GOSSIP! PARADISE ENTERTAINMENT TO SIGN QUATA

Paradise Entertainment is a management label in the country handling artiste such as Mzbel, VIP, 4X4, MIMI and to add to their list of great artistes, the label is in serious talk with Quata (the Hip Lifer).
We can confirm that the Hip lifer has met with management of Paradise Entertainment on several occasions with the aim of concluding a deal, which will make him (Quata) the new soldier of Paradise.
Wait, who is paying for Quata’s new video, on the song ‘One Man No Chop’ which was shot on Saturday 18th of September 2010, if Paradise is still in talks with the artiste?
In a chat with our source, monitoring the transaction, it is disclosed that Paradise will be paying for all videos of the artiste, promotion and marketing of the album.
Will Movegui Records acts as the official record label for Quata, since all artistes under Paradise Entertainment use the same record label?
All eyes are on the deal to find out if it is a good one for Quata and also if Paradise entertainment will benefit immensely on their target signing.
Also eyes are on Paradise Entertainment especially, because fans of Quata will love to see the packaging of their act. They will be looking out for the difference in selling the new image and songs of the act, making sure it is not similar to the others.
If Paradise Entertainment should sign Quata, will the latter be having his album launch at Boomerang Nite club, that will be so not cool/ ‘ONE WAY’, but who knows, maybe that is why the artiste is delaying the signing?
In an interview with a colleague artiste in the industry, he disclose saying, ‘I think Quata should sign for Paradise Entertainment because it is a good management label’. He also added that, the only thing he should be checking is the packaging of him, as an artiste and his album, as a product.
Recently we published that the Hip Lifer Quata, completed his album with Sarkodie, on a love record, meaning that the artiste has done 99% of the job already.
If Paradise should convince the musician to join them, Ghanaians will be looking out for a total different package for the artiste, and positive response to his hit album.
Quata Vrs Paradise Entertainment, judgment coming soon, keep on reading.

HEAR SAY! R2BEES ARE CLUB OWNERS.

‘Refuse to be broke’ is the popular slogan of the group R2Bees, the latter seems to have a better understanding of what that slogan means than any one, as they are said to be the owners of Barcadees Night club inside Tema.
The initials of the group name has gotten a positive influence on the Tema base hip life artiste, R2Bees, simply because their investment in the music industry has started yielding results that will never make them broke and one of such investment we gathered is them being the owners of Barcadees Night club inside Tema.
A close source told our team that, the group has an office inside the club and that is where it operates its activities from/
Also most of the top musicians spend a lot of time there, the source also added that. In continuation it was said that ‘if one is looking for R2bees during week days, let’s say, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, the best place to find them is inside Barcadees Night Club, Tema.
Upon this hear say, we did every effort to reach one management member of the group, with the aim of getting their side on this heavy Hear Say, to either confirm or denial but all effort proved impossible.
Efforts are still in place to find out the truth behind this hear say, meanwhile the group R2Bees are tagged/not seen on many stages of shows in the country.
Pushing music lovers in the country to put on their suspicious and thinking cap as to where the magic came from, if the Hear Say is true.
A review of their (R2bees) journey so far, starting from shows performance to hit singles released.
Could their first big show be the MTV mama Africa Awards train, held at Citizen Kofi last year 2009 were Ghanaians welcomed their style, kind of music and flexibility. Could that show have made the investment?
Recently R2Bees were also seen on the stages of GMA’s 2010 held at the international conference Center, here, the group might have played many shows but let’s concentrate on these two as major ones, of that is the case could the GMA’s plat form course the magic?
We will not add their album, video launch and premier respectively, since both happened recently.
So let’s play the assumption game here, let’s say it’s true, R2bees are owners of Barcadees Night Club at Tema, which song did the magic on their journey to success, we are only asking?
Could it have been the break through song, ‘Yawa Girl’, or ‘Money’ (the song that describes how to search and handle money) or the latest hit ‘Kiss your Hand ft Wande Coal’?
May be it is their ‘Africa song’ (a sign in tune for Aphropolitan Mix on Yfm 107.9), ok probably it is ‘Rataaaa’ (a popular tune played by Sammy Forson), which ever song did the magic is a great one because celebrities especially musicians in the country lack assets.
Trust yours truly to get you the fact behind the news and join us as we declare celebrities with assets plus those with nothing.
Meanwhile it is the refuse to be Broke guys R2Bees who are ready for clearance, stay tune in our next publication.

HIPLIFER AKOO NANA MADE CHIEF OF KASOA.

Doing so well in the music industry locally with the hit single “MUGU”, hip lifer Akoo Nana has earned another success, he is now, ‘AGOROHENE OF KASOA 1st ’ crowned by the chiefs and elders of the Kasoa town.
In acceptance to this huge responsibility, Hip Lifer Akoo Nana, gave a very thought out speech and rounded it with a spectacular performance at the community’s Eid Fitr jam held at the stations park recently.
The chieftaincy is a career starter for the Hip Lifer, a reward for his perseverance, hard work and determination to achieve success over these past few years.
The hip lifer was full of grace last Saturday when the people of Kasoa sided with their chiefs and elders during the crowning ceremony at the just ended Muslims Eid Fitr celebrations.
It was more joy for the people when Akoo Nana after a long wait appeared to grace the occasion.
In an interview with the chiefs, they made it known that, the Hip lifer was not just picked because people voted for Him, NO, the elders of the town were looking for a native of the land(Kasoa) who is doing so well in his choice of work in the country and on top of it all carries his/herself well.
This, they say was a move targeted to motivate the youth of the land to do something positive with their lives and not just walk about. They also added that it serves definitely as a reward, motivation to the recipient of the kinship for his countless effort to reach the heights he has obtained.
In crowning Akoo Nana as the king of entertainment, he was given a white walking stick, the northern batakari and a Hat plus the untouchable palace stool, which signifies that he has a chair at the chief Palace.
The Hip lifer’s role as the King / chief of entertainment is not only to bring entertainment related activities to the community; he must focus on the development of the community and the youth as a whole, in all areas.
With determination to change the lives of the youth in Kasoa and not to impress them, the HipLifer Akoo Nana after barely a week has started negotiating with Rite Multimedia, winners of SWAG Award Basket ball contributors, to build a standard basket ball court at the community, which Rite has shown a positive sign to the proposal.
“My next point of action is to raise funds to build a community center at Kasoa, where all activities of youth inclined will be going on there. As I speak to you now, a drafted proposal is ready plus a song to help solicit for funs to build that community center for Kasoa, Akoo Nana told us.
He also added that, it is his dream that becoming the king Of entertainment of Kasoa, he will be able to touch the lives of many young guys positively, changing all negative perceptions into positive once that has been with the majority, that is my priority.
Is the desire of the Hip lifer to see improvement in the community within a short term plan and to be able to achieve that, he will be launching a social project to back him especially in raising the money for the construction of a multipurpose community center at Kasoa very soon?
Akoo Nana, in his final words at the event (Crowning ceremony) made known that very soon he will be launching his new video and that he will be dedicating the song, video itself to the chief, elders and people of Kasoa.
He also stressed on a sincere gratitude to the chiefs and elders of the community for his kinship as the ‘AGOROHENE OF KASOA 1st ’; to the people he could not but show great satisfaction for them accepting him as their King.
The very next time you meet the Hip lifer Akoo Nana, remember that he is a chief with the title ‘AKOO NANA AGOROHENE OF KASOA 1st ’.

GOSSIP! RUFF N SMOOTH SHOOT SECOND VIDEO

“Of the records, we are confirming that the Swagger boys, Ruff N Smooth will be passing through the Vodafone Black Berry launch at the Polo grounds on the 17th of September 2010 and fans should watch out for all exclusives, pictures and videos.”
Ruff N Smooth is shooting their second video after chalking great success with the single ‘SWAGGER’.
The location was inside James town, with the director on set being Stephen, who is not new in the business but has been on low, working to hit it on target.
A Ghetto setting, this easily shows the originality, uniqueness and identity of the song. Telling the story to the outside world in a very simple but confident concept, Ruff N Smooth is portrayed as ghettos hustlers from a small nation like Ghana.
The song talks about their journey, from the very beginning to the end, which is, from scratch to success and features Iwan, the lyrical gunshot man.
Iwan, gun down the song with his positive lyrical prowess showing how creative and ready he is as an artiste to face the world. In his ‘bars’ (words) Iwan referred to the days when he was a little youth walking on the street, there he could see his dada bee friends riding is hammers, but that never scared him as now they are all in the same level thanks to determination.
We caught up with the artiste, Ruff N Smooth to explain to us this whole idea of shooting a video for songs on an already sold album, which is still doing well on the market.
The Swagger boys explained, ‘is very simple, majority of the time we travel outside the country to perform, every time we go, we hardly leave anything for fans here to enjoy, hence we needed something to keep them going until we come back.
We also asked them their reason for a reggae/dancehall tune, why not their normal danceable songs, like Monalisa and Sex Machine.
Ruff N Smooth is a versatile group appealing to all kind of genre lovers in and outside the country, hence a need to balance the album, Smooth told us. The latter also added that it is expression of one’s sentimental issues which nearly caused a disturb career but by Grace here we are, so we want to make fans dance, yes, but we also want them to pick up life’s pieces and join them to sew a dress.
They also added that, for now they want to concentrate on shooting more videos that they could not because of performances in and outside the country, but as soon as they are down, they will be performing inside the USA and while they are gone fans can relax with their videos, Ruff N Smooth added.
The reggae dancehall tune from Ruff N Smooth will motivate you, making you more determined to push and never stop pushing until an achievement is secured for the future.
Fans should watch out for the exclusive pictures and video premier soon on this site.

THE TIME CAME AT THE 12TH ALBUM… CECILIA MARFO

The Holy Spirit filled the studios of TV Africa on Wednesday evening during the Run Down show, when Cecelia Marfo the gospel musician was hosted.
Rundown host Yaw Sakyi felt the presence of the Holt Spirit when the Gospel Diva, Cecilia Marfo, changed the atmosphere of Rundown and positively influenced the host to listen to her uninterrupted for ten minutes-forty seconds as she delivered a powerful speech through her song.
The journey has been long, it not as if I want to make up stories but trust me the journey has been long and I know that many will think this is my first album but Yaw believe me this is the twelve album Cecilia Marfo stressed on.
Yaw Sakyi’s question was very simple, “so what inspired the hit song, AFOMMOBA’”.
Cecilia Marfo explained that her pastor and she picked the song up from the Bible, Matthew 21, then; her pastor will fix a keyboard/piano and sat down with her as they planned the song but they suffered on countless times before recording the song.
She also added that patience for the Lord is the Key to every answer missing in the world. When people heard the breakthrough of the song, they want to come closer but before people used to laugh at me, my family and the pastor.
‘The story is so bad that, one could not enter my room where I lived with the family, with a pregnant stomach and my little kids, I used to feed from leftovers food inside Kumasi market, Cecilia added passionately.
Still not interrupted by the host of Rundown Yaw Sakyi, Cecelia also added that times were bad to the extent that she and her family could not attend any local church in their area simply because she wanted to beg for money from other churches.
To make matters worse for her, Cecelia said that, she visited some churches to sing for them, but because she was looking so rugged the church did not allow her to perform, but today, churches are calling on her to grace their temples.
Cecelia who performed her breakthrough hit ‘Afommoba’ among others on rundown was very optimistic that the door has opened and no matter how the devil tries it will not close.
In fact if Yaw Sakyi had allowed her to go on she would have done a sixty minutes live gospel show, creating thousands of thousands of songs because she is very talented. One significant thing about Cecelia is that, she sounded the same on her CD, making her better off than others.
“To conclude her performance and the interview, Cecelia made it known that giving up in life is not the key but keeping on keeping on in whatever clean business you are involved in is the answer.
Her final words to the whole Christian community and the general public was that, if a little more effort will be added to that prayer time and the patience, God of Abraham will surely open the flood gate of heaven, causing rains upon rains at your feet.
Yaw Sakyi could not have said nothing than, “thank you for coming Cecelia and now that the gate has open, we believe God will bless more things”, Amen.
The story of success is never told within a certain time frame because success its self is a journey never completed within a limited time frame, keep that in your diaries.

THE DEMOLISHING OF 5FIVE WHO’S FAULT

5FIVE. the Aphro pop group, has been on the minds of many, especially fans and what they keep on asking is who or what is killing the group 5five, is it managerial or the composition of another hit song.
One time a manager of a group said that, ‘when artiste gets to a certain level in their career especially after the first album success, they begin to challenge themselves’, Wait! Could that have happen to the group 5Five, did they take up the challenge of we can do it all by ourselves without managerial assistance.
During a vox pop on Accra Polytechnic campus, the ladies especially were of the view that 5five did not really do much on their hit single ‘African Girlz’ causing them all these problems.
They also added that if they want to get their fame back, a possible collaboration with DIOJO (the singer on that song) will cause the magic, will that actually work?
Guys from the same campus, who seem to be great fans of the group, were of the view that, it is not a composition problem but promotional or managerial assistance.
In explaining their reason, the guys said that, ‘5Five’s second album which had the song ‘PARTY’ ft Iwan and Gino, is a great song, all the guys need to do is a promotional plan and they are good to go.
The vox pop continued in a chit chat form with some pals close to the group inside Adabraka just to get their the other side of the story.
It was more laughter than serious talk from majority of them, none could point out the actual problem with the onetime hit group.
5five after winning ‘Double Awards’ at the Ghana Music Awards in 2008, that is New discovery of the year, Aphro pop song of the year and the 4SYTE Video award all with their hit single “African Girlz”, is 5Five going to be like Deeba, kokoveli, Keteke, among others.
Nothing has worked for the group so far, ‘PARTY’ was well spread in the schools, and on computers, but had little or no air play as compared to ‘African Girlz’.
‘GH, are you ready, let me see your five fingers in the air, your five fingers in the air’ and you know what continues, or the popular Yeah! Is double 5five in the building, has been missed a lot not just the fans but every music lover in the country.
5five, yeah, GH is ready with our five fingers in the air waiting for it to come down the very day you will resurrect.

BLACK RASTA TALKS TOO MUCH!

In the year 2008 a presidential aspirant in the United States paved way for the breakthrough of a radio presenter turned reggae musician, Black Rasta, in Ghana, when the latter composed a song for the American President Barrack Obama.
The question has been on the minds of many, IS BLACK RASTA A RAP ARTISTE?
In the song Barack Obama by Black Rasta, the radio presenter turned musician talked too much in the song, some of the talking in that song went off the beat at a certain point, while at other verses one could hardly hear the reggae artiste words.
With that success in that style, Black Rasta thought with another such style Ghanaian reggae lovers will welcome it as they did with the song Barrack Obama.
Unfortunately for him, ‘We no want any Whitey, whitey we no wan any Cocaine, Cocaine! No whitey, no cocaine” did not do too well, as one of the stations jamming that song is Hitz 103.7fm (sorry that is where the artiste works).
What do we call his kind of style in the reggae industry, is it rap reggae or what?
If Culture, Bob Nester Marley, Peter Tosh and Lucky Duby’s kind of reggae music is to go by as the definition of reggae music, then we don’t believe that Black Rasta falls under the category reggae music.
In anticipation to find out what kind of music the radio presenter turned musician does, a vox pop was held in town and this is what people had to say;
Kwame (a Banker): ‘Well I think he is doing well as a presenter but not too good as a musician, I can’t easily pin point his style in the reggae industry, in short he does “Dancehall Reggae”.
Ato (taxi Driver): I love black Rasta, his show on radio is one I don’t miss every day, especially the Shaker Box, for the music, I will say he does Dancehall music and I love his Barack Obama track.
Mavis (Market Woman): Oh! Black Rasta talks too much in his music, sometimes it is hard for me to hear what he is saying and follow it. If he should relax and say the things one after the other I will love the songs.
Many spoke to us on this issue, majority of them hitting the fact that Black Rasta talks too much in his music and do not know the style/kind of music he does whether it is dancehall reggae or reggae as we know.
A school of thought was of the view that he talks too much and that he should relax and concentrate on his career as both presenter and musician.
On radio Black Rasta creates more haters than lovers affecting his musical career, many reggae lovers who tune into the musician show complain that sometimes he over says certain things he says on radio and over challenges other of other faith.
Black Rasta should know that music and religion is liberal and one has the power to listen or follow the music / reggae respectively, hence should reduced his talking in both his music and presentation.
Black Rasta talks too much……

4RINA IS OUT OF THE SHELL WITH ‘IGWE’.

Before I start this interview I want to say a big thank you to the Grand Papa of Hip life Reggie Rockstone, the man has really put food on the table for most of us today, 4RINA said before us as we diged into his new artistic career.
“4RINA ON THE MOVE LETS GO… AND RUFF – SMOOTH, WE THEY COME MARSH UP, EVERY BODY SAY EIII, YOU KNOW HOW I DO MY THING, IS AKAN AND 4RINA, WE THEY MARSH UP THINGS… THEY CALL ME ‘IGWE’ GIRLS THEY CALL ME ‘IGWE’ BECAUSE I TOO FINE OOOH!”
That is the wicked introduction to the IGWE song by 4RINA, in high spirit 4RINA was of full of smiles as we caught up with him at Solid Multimedia, where he was finalizing his IGWE video.
As we always do, we try to find out what he is up to with the new single ‘IGWE’
‘Basically is about my new single am promoting titled ‘IGWE’ but I am still working on my full album, the song is already out, the video is what we are here to finalize on and as you can see its ready for consumption so music lovers in the country should get ready for the new king of Hip Life, 4RINA answered our question.
The room was full of happiness as we asked, ‘who is 4RINA’?
4RINA… hmm! I will say, I used to be an underground artiste but am no more since my new single is out and the video will be rolling soon, hence am not an underground artiste. I am known in real life as Kingley Kwesi, a graduate of IPS and I am the new king on the block, as the song says.
So 4RINA, tell us, what is your strong hold as an artiste and the kind of genre you do?
4RINA ANSWERED, My strong hold is my lyrical prowess and swag on and off the stage (any at all), my kind of genre is Music, I am very versatile, any good punch lines with a melodies beat that will get the ladies entertained will do but for the sake of the industry, I will say I do Hip Life.
The dream of every Artiste is to be on all big platforms in and outside the country, has 4RINA stood on any plat form yet or any upcoming ones?
‘Management from the initial stages decided, not to allow me stand on any plat form, that makes my show list a bit hiding but I will be performing at the old school reunion, night of the stars, all from Joyfm 99.7, and I also have a show this year inside Nigeria.
For my already performed shows, I was on the Oman Fm 3rd Anniversary bash stage, I have also being on TV Africa’s sound splash and Jokers night club, he stressed on.
We have seen many artistes come and go with just one hit, how many hit songs do you have and which of the songs to you love so far?
All the songs are hit songs, none of the songs so far will not be a hit, trust me. I love all the songs but my favorite is the ‘BELEWO’, currently I have five songs, B Bright (Can you feel it) and Ephram Musiq worked as beat producers.
There are some featuring already and some of it yet to be done, for instance, there is a song with Sarkodie which will be out very soon, but now I have worked with Ruff N Smooth, Annette and Balo flash from Nigeria, 4RINA explained.
Behind every successful artiste there is management, 4RINA, which management is behind you?
I have Empire Entertainment as my managers and Yes You Can Records as my record label. Let me say that, Yes You can records saw me when I was looking for a record label ten years ago, took me to empire entertainment, we played the song, they loved it and both parties agreed to push the dream of 4RINA, he lamented.
In the industry many of the artistes hardly write their songs did you write all the songs you have recorded so far or someone helped you out?
Wow… (4RINA SAID) funny enough I wrote all the songs myself during odd times in my house, some at the bath house and kitchen. I remember with ‘IGWE’ I was playing with it like this, “THE LADIES THEY FEEL, JUST LIKE RASTA MAN LIKE WEE, EII! WHEN THEY SEE ME PAN THE CLUB; THEY SHOUT MY NAME SAY, IGWE, IGWE OOOH! SEE! THEM SAY THEY THEM CHECK ME, WHEN I STEP INTO THE CLUB THEY RASH ME, IN THEIR DREAMS THEY SEE ME, ONE, TWO, TURN AND LADIES ARE AROUND ME”
I write my song based on how I want people to see, love and understand me through my music, he pin pointed.
We asked 4RINA his dream for the industry and where he was to be in the next 5 years and he had this to say;
‘My future is bright in the industry, I want to be the next house hold name in the industry and in the next five years I want to be on the Grammy’s stage performing and receiving some Grammy’s’, he smiled with a lot of hopes.
The songs will get you dancing your sorrows away, laugh to a better life and jam in the club to relax, I am grateful to my management, record label and You(fans). I also thank all Dj’s who are jamming the songs, like recently I won the song of the week on YFM107.9 on drive of your life, this tells me that the album will receive massive acceptance when released and I am humbled, 4RINA’s final words.
4RINA is the ladies entertainer and the boy’s admirer; the ladies can now relax as he has come to distressed them with great music and lyrics. Have a feel of his new video on youtube, face book page- 4RINA, and twitter – 4RINA MUSIC.

2PUFF DANCERS TURNED ‘TRADERS’ BY MALTA GUINNESS

The Malta Guinness street dance first ever winners 2PUFF were turned into ‘TRADERS’ in their passports, instead of dancers by the organizers of the event when they had to travel to the United Kingdom for the world street dance competition, last two years.
Malta Guinness street dance competitions being the first of its kind in Ghana was well accepted by the youth, they followed the train were ever it went with the hope that they could pass the regional competition in order to represent the region at the nationals.
2PUFF just like any other dance group followed the train and passed the regional test to represent their region at the national finals.
At the nationals 2PUFF won the competition hands down, even though the other dance groups proved their worth, 2PUFF were more on point from the ruling of the Judges.
Price packages for the national winner were, ₵5000, ticket to REP Ghana at the African championship and drinks from Malta Guinness, this price package was handled over to 2PUFF.
They took up the challenge to rep Ghana at the Africa stages, which they also won, that made 2PUFF the first ever winners of the Malta Guinness street dance champions both national and Africa.
The price package was $1050, a return ticket to rep Africa, Ghana to be precise at the world stage in the United Kingdom and Malta Guinness products. The latter package was peacefully handed over to the winners but one was left out.
The winners were refused VISAs to travel to the United Kingdom for the world stage last two years because in their passport they were not Dancers or artistes but Traders.
A source close to the group told us that, the world stage of the dance competition was held but Ghana/Africa was not represented, simply because Malta Guinness turned the dancers into traders, hence if they are traders then a need for working permit.
‘This disappointment brought argument between the two groups that is Malta Guinness and 2PUFF as the group could not understand what was going on, the source continued’.
Our investigations show that the head of the team (that is the man taking the guys to UK) had his VISA because he had working permit because he is working.
When the guys approached Malta Guinness on the issue because time and days were running out (they were bounced that same week, the UK event was taken place), the organizers told 2PUFF to go look for working permit which was going to be difficult because these guys do not work, they won a competition, hence they could not get a working permit.
Days and time have passed away, the world street dance champions were on going as the UK organizers called and called to find out why the Ghanaian group was not coming.
The only reason given to the group 2PUFF from the organizers was that it was a mistake and they apologize for such a mistake. In compensating them the group was taken to South Africa for some holidays and relaxation.
The event was the first of its kind in Africa and it brought energy into the youth giving them hope for employment. It also took the young guys who had the talent of dancing off the streets and gave them meaning for what they do; hence they could make something out of their talents.
The question is should a mistake be allowed to happen or was it a deliberate attempt from the organizers not to send the winners to the World stage?
2PUFF on 4SYTE TV top 10 music videos lied to the whole Ghana saying that the world street dance championship never happened, mean while they were turned into TRADERS instead of DANCERS by the organizers.
Will the same thing happen to High Spirit, the new national winners of the Malta Guinness street dance held in the country?

THE DONATION BOX IS STILL OPEN… JAY FOLEY

Donation to the box has being made very easy and close to people, as they can now ‘send a well wishing text message to patients of the Kidney Dialyses Renewal Department of the Kolebu Teaching Hospital, to the code 1947 on all networks.’
Each text message sent by individuals will cost them GH₵ 1 ONLY, he added. Furthermore, Jay Foley, continued his explanation saying, “We are grateful to the general public for their support during the first face of the event, and we believe that they will continue to support us.”
This Jay Foley made publicly last Saturday on one of Ghana’s entertaining television show 4SYT TV’ in his final words to end the show.
Jay Foley made known to the general public that the focus to buy two machines for the Dialyses Renewal Department of the Kolebu Teaching Hospital is still on course as the initial plan to raise €50,000 from August to December 2010 will not be left hanging.
The second face is about to kick off and fans of 2131, BHS, Black August, should expect nothing but a total change sweeping them off their feet.
During the first face of the fund raising, that is, the Black August show, a talk from a lady who once had the kidney problem was very heart touching and treated every individual there (Boomerang) to support the event with their all if they can, as she said, “It could be you, a friend or a relative.”
This donation programme started in August by 2131 as they held the second year anniversary of their Banging Hip Hop show (BHS) and with the aim of making this year’s anniversary different they decided to give back to the very people who have made 2131 what it is today.
This aim was well accepted by the team as they outlined series of activities to guide them in achieving this great success. To them it is a way of stepping up the game in the industry, hence a social project as this, is nothing much on the table.
On their Face Book page, 2131 CEO, Jay Foley has written, the Second Face is coming. In response to that, are welcoming response from fans, friends and well wishers embracing the idea, giving them (2131) hope for the future.

MUSICIANS AT WAR WITH BEAT PRODUCERS… STOP RYDING ON OUR SONGS.

“Is a hit man, you know the name Right! Nacy fetio nwonm, Appietus in the mix! Body RORO, If is heavy then Bones did it, Quick Action, ‘Brasssh! Jay Q’, Kaywa, Yes you know! The last 2”, these are signatures of beat producers in the country and they are causing more harm than good to the musicians, who have decided to match them boot for boot because they are cheating them.
“It is not only marketing their studios to upcoming musicians, it also making them think they can sing and do what we do best”, a musician told us. I mean, now, Quick action is singing, Morris de voice the same, Richie, Nacy, RoRo and the list goes on, the musician added.
These guys after getting their fame from us, they also want to challenge us on our profession too, this is really bad and has to be stopped, he Cried out loud.
“Let me tell you, if you send your promo CD to a DJ to play, he will ask you which engineer worked on it, if it is not a popular one, trust me He will take the CD not to embarrass you but he will not play it, We are not giving the upcoming beat producers a chance and it is sad!, he continued passionately.
In the past Ghanaian musicians did not have signatures of beat producers on their songs, making them comfortable and getting all the praise for a good work?
Over then, credits were given to beat producers on the CD/Cassette case of the musicians as well as others who helped in making that album a success.
In the early 2000’s when hip life was hip life, beat producers such as Jay Q and Hammer, were playing their signatures on songs produced by artiste from their camp.
Hammer of the last 2 had the signature of a Voice from an MC and Jay Q was breaking bottles, these two was not easily accepted from the beginning but with time it grew stronger and gradually became a competition and an industry beef between artistes from the two camps.
Was there an effect then? What has change over the years that some of the musicians in the country are now crying that signatures of beat makers should be removed from their songs or they (beat producers) have to pay/reduce cost of production since it is advertisement for them?
In a chat with one of Ghana’s renounced beat producers UBEAT, he disclose that, he has being producing beat all these years and has never dropped a signature on any song, he has recorded. “I have worked with majority of the musicians in Ghana and every time they record somewhere, I do the mix and mastering, why? If they know your work they know it, he added.
Also we spoke to another renounced producer, whose work is heard day in day out but with no signature introduction or a mention from the artiste. He was very clear and simple, ‘beat producers should not put their signatures on songs of musicians’; if your work is good people will come looking for you.

In response to that an interview with the musicians showed that, majority of them did not really find the connection as to why they have to pay so much to record a song and after awards beat producers advertise freely their signatures on it, while the minority had a different opinion.
This issue once came up, we remember on EBIZ which was shown then on Net 2 television, the presenter once brought the issue up for discussion and the issue was hardly solved, but now the musicians have come to realization that producers are cheating them, by putting their signatures on their song.
They (musicians) showed a lot of remorse when we spoke to them, saying, ‘we have being deceived in the past and now we will not allow them”. Our young and upcoming artistes are wondering were to record because the so called popular beat makers are charging so much they can’t afford.
The DJ’s/ presenters are also not helping, some of them are now singing, the music profession is too opened, and a musician told us. What can we do, our association is not working too well to protect us and they are aware, we are being cheated but choose to watch and do nothing, the musician lamented.
Seriously a second look at this issue is so important, as to who is losing and who is gaining. Are the musicians gaining, the better the signature on the song the more air play and listenership the musician gets and the more signature is played the popular the beat producers get and the more they increase their charges.
The intentions of Musicians are now clear, all signatures of beat producers should be removed with immediate effect, if it is kept, then it means, either, the charges for recording are reduced or the signatures are paid for.
All efforts to reach some of the DJs/Presenters and beat producers mentioned here proved fruit less but in due course if we get their response to the story as to whether they are doing the musicians more damage than good, readers will be informed.

MALTA GUINESS STREET DANCE PAN AFRICA COMPETITON LAUNCHED AT ALISA HOTEL

This year’s Malta Guinness street dance Pan African competition will be held in Ghana from the 6th of October 2010 and involves six African countries, namely, Kenya, Cameroun, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mali and Ghana.
This was made known by the Marketing Manageress of Malta Guinness Ghana Ltd at Alisa Hotel North ridge. She added that this year’s Pan Africa competition prices are different as it is now the winner takes all.
At the function to grace it with his presence was the Director from the ministry of Tourism, who was never allowed to make an acceptance statement officially to the media, but was pushed to accept without words that, the ministry is in support of the event.
The winner of the Pan African Dance Competition takes away a swooping amount of thirty-Five thousand dollars ($35,000) and is winner takes all.
The managing director of Malta Guinness was very optimistic that the Ghanaian representatives, High Spirit, will win the competition, this he said as, “I have seen this group dance at the national finals and from the way they dance they will win the competition”.
The atmosphere in the conference room of Alisa Hotel was very high as High Spirit, Ghana’s representative at this year’s competition urged all Ghanaians to rally behind them as they promise a total victory, hands down for the nation.
The organizers of the street dance Competition, Malta Guinness, explained their reason for selecting Ghana as the host of this year’s Pan African finals as, “everything this year has being about Ghana, from football to other games and importantly, the first ever winners of this great competition was Ghana, hence a good reason to bring it home for the local people to enjoy”.
They also added that, this year’s event will be very different, the groups will be housed like any reality show, they will be taking challenges and going through grooming sessions from top choreographers in and outside the country Ghana as well.
In the case of Judges for the event, the organizers explained that none of the judges of this show is from Ghana, all judges are not from any of the participating teams in the competition, and hence the event is very clean and not partial.
The room became very patriotic when a theme was given to the event, that is “host and Win”, a popular theme many football lovers will not like to hear or remember, simply because Ghana upon hosting the African Cup of nations with that theme lost the trophy, turning the theme to Host and Weep, but we Forbid that for High Spirit, this year.
In what seem to be more patriotism from the organizers, who are keen on making ‘High spirit’ win the competition, was the launched of ‘360 degrees plan’.
It constitute training with a top choreographer and other things put in place to help them (High Spirit) win, even though the organizers claim they will not be partial in their deeds, our eyes are following with Keen interest hoping to that they never do.
To end the occasion was a delightful performance from “High Spirit’ just to prove their readiness for the final show and 2PUFF, first ever winners of the Malta Guinness Street dance, both national and Pan Africa.
We congratulate Malta Guinness for this great idea and ‘High Spirit’ for winning the national competition; we believe they will make us proud, establishing the theme “HOST AND WIN”.

SEX FOR SALE AT A “BEAUTY PAGEANT”

Top executive office holders of a network in the country are accused of asking beautiful ladies contending for their annual beauty pageant show to go to bed with them if they want to go very far in the competition.
In a chat with entertainmentinGhana.com the source who leaked the story agreed to remain anonymous but told entertainmentinGhana.com saying, “After a successful selection process for this year’s competition, top executive position holders are threatening the ladies with sex.”
“Instead of them doing it for their own selfish gains, they are using the event to blackmail the ladies, telling them if they want to go far and be the queen in the competition than they have to go to bed with them, the source added.
Already beauty pageants are seen to be exploiting women, as one can hardly trust the organizers for their selections both contestants and winners.
The source also added that some of the ladies selected for this year’s event were based on familiarity and service, that is, some of the ladies are escorts for some big men in the country and those big men turn to have influence on the show by way of sponsorships, hence the ladies easily gain selection.
“I can confirm that the winner for last year of the same pageant was chosen at a social gathering spot in the country, where one of the top executives bump into her and asked her to pick up audition forms because she fits the show, the source lamented.
In addition, the source also said that this year’s threat has shadowed the ladies; they knew there were games like these but not from the very beginning.
Those ladies who were selected for the show based on familiarity, attractiveness and the fact that they agreed to the deal are always in the final five, the source pin pointed.
“Majority of the time, the winners for this same beauty pageant is chosen in the room before the final day, here the contestants themselves are aware, but only pretend, just to satisfy friends, families and love ones as a reward for their investment” the source angrily explained.
The source who is very close to the ladies, claim that most of them are very confused and naïve, not knowing what to do, whether to turn in, taking up the offer or reject and be evicted in the early stages of the competition.
Just for the records the beauty pageant has a strong brand name and the organizers have done very well protecting it but this year things are not going too well for them at all. The growth of another beauty pageant kills them and they claim the other show has bitten into their show.
Where are the Women Activist in the country, what is happening to the right protection of our young women in society, can’t there be an enforcement to show clarity of criteria and selection process both screening and choosing of a winner.
EntertainmentinGhana.com will not want to publish the name of the beauty pageant and the organizers as in due course, since we have our ears on the ground for any further updates on this story.

NITE OF THOUSAND AND TEN LAUGHS MISSING!

His name describes him easily, he jokes like his life depends on it and if the word comedy is missing in the dictionary then “Funny Face” has it in his house, making sure nobody else can get hold of it.
Funny face, a weekly feature in the popular TV series ‘Trotro’ saved the Nite of thousand and ten Laughs with his sleek introduction, rough comments and jaw breaking conclusion, as he took audience at the national theater to a world of fantasy.
The event which was almost missing in action and nearly became the worst nite of thousand laughs due to poor performances from the foreign acts and local music performance was saved swiftly by the Ghanaian comedian “funny Face”.
The nite of thousand and ten laughs is an annual music and comedy fester organized by the nation’s event power house Charter House, and this year was no different.
The event which had an attack from the local comedians, that is, charter house should not use foreign comedians on a local stage was next to a disaster until the savior came to the rescue of the show.
As if the attack from the local comedians was a text case for the event organizers, they heeded to the cry of the local comedians and fixed one of them on stage.
The local comedians proved their worth through Funny Face who was exceptional at this year’s event, signifying a sign of CAUTION to the organizers, that, our attack was not to be left unsatisfied.
The local comedians had attacked the event organizers, saying, they (event organizers) do not include them in their media hype and also do not pay them well when invited, but believe that after the performance of Funny Face the event organizers will think otherwise.
The show saw performance from the queen of comedy Helen Paul, Funny Face, among others and had musical interludes from Bertha (Stars of the future winner) Abrantie Amakye Dede and VIP.
CAUTION! Charter House, the next bill board and Media hype for the Nite of Thousand and eleven nights should host Funny Face and the likes, since they have proved their worth in this year’s edition.

SARKODIE IS NO THREAT… QUATA

EntertainmentinGhana.com is confirming that Quata has completed his new album, titled ‘ME’ and the final track on that album was recorded last night which featured Sarkodie on the song titled “TAKE ME HOME”, a song recorded by Ragoon Beats inside Dzorwulu, and recorded under the Eight 4 Label.
Quata who was very surprised when entertainmentinGhana.com approached him in his hideout said, “What more can be said about the controversy surrounding the beef between Sarkodie and myself, fans thought we did not meet eye to eye, but I think this collaboration settles it all.”
Fans have waited long enough for the collaboration between Quata and Sarkodie. As to whether they want to judge who the fastest rapper in Ghana is, entertainmentinGhana.com can feel that anxiety between fans of both artistes.
On the question of whether it was a deliberate attempt to prove to Ghana who the fastest rapper in GH really is, Quata (full of smiles) explained, “the song itself is a LOVE SONG, we did it strictly for the ladies in Ghana, they know we love them and vice versa, so, NO! Is not to prove any point, but it is to celebrate the beautiful ladies.
Upon hearing the song “TAKE ME HOME”, entertainmentinGhana.com was very curious on knowing when the video for the song will be shot, by whom and where.
“The video is coming like a train, as you know I just completed my album, so is a whole package, which I will be announcing very soon. But back to the video of ‘Take Me Home’, it will be shot in Tema, by Steve Gee of Real House Films and fans should relax for the unexpected”, Quata added.
The tempo of the song sounds very fast, Quata, entertainmentinGhana.com asked, how fast did you go on this song.
“Well is all about your heart, Sarkodie and myself are known to be doing the fast tongue twisting, so we went really fast. As to who went really fast on it I think fans should wait to hear the song and answer it for themselves, Quata pin pointed”
He continued by saying that, the talk is over, this year will prove who is who in the industry, not to talk much but I believe my new album will settle all scores in the industry.
Talking about your new album, Quata, entertainmentinGhana.com wants to know, who and who you featured on this new album.
I worked with Tic Tac, Tinny, Sarkodie, KK fosu, among others, for some of the artiste who are very new in the game, I invited them to feature on this hit album and you will not believe the answers I had, Quata lamented.
That brought entertainmentinGhana.com to its next question, because we realized that the entire artistes you worked with as mention are all old names so we were wondering the where about of the new ones.
E-Ghana, as Quata called out, I personally invited two new ones and they failed me. I did not want this album to be like I am ignoring the new ones but unfortunately that’s how it has to be.
EntertainmentinGhana.com can confirm that Quata’s new album is ready and will soon be promoted. The first song on the list for promotion is “ONE MAN NO CHOP”, a song recorded by Ragoon beats inside Dzorwulu.
So the heat is over, all talking should cease henceforth, because the long awaited collaboration between the two fast rappers in the music industry is here and it will be promoted for fans to enjoy.
“TAKE ME HOME”, ‘ONE MAN NO CHOP’ plus other songs will definitely go home with you when the album is released, trust entertainmentinGhana.com on this one.
Fans should stick to entertainmentinGhana.com for the first premier date of Quata’s 3D animated videos soon.

SARKODIE AND AWAL… STOMP BHS “BLACK AUGUST”.

“Live, Challenge, or forget it” are the three powerful words that make up the slogan of 2131 and in making this powerful slogan a reality 2131, have decided to “SAVE LIFES” with their event “BLACK AUGUST”.
Last Saturday, 2131 kick off their campaign to raise €50,000 to buy two machines for the Dialysis Renewal department of the Korle bu Teaching Hospital in a club party form. The event which took place at the Boomerang nite club also makes the 2nd anniversary of the BANGING HIP HOP SHOW (BHS), an element of 2131.
EntertainentinGhana.com can confirm that the next event from 2131 will be a “CORPORATE AND DOCTORS TREAT” in a buffet, dinner setting. From that event will see the real endorsement and official launch of 2131.
Don’t be confused, 2131 as a company has not being launched, all the launches held so far have being elements of 2131 and not the real company 2131 its self.
In an interview with Edem Smiling Smith, a representative of 2131, he explained saying, ‘BHS is an element of 2131 and this marks its 2nd anniversary.
“We wanted to celebrate it in a grand style but we also did not want to do it the normal party way, hence we (2131) decided to take up an initiative which will give us a just course to celebrate the Two year anniversary”
“With that idea we visited the korlebu teaching Hospital, we checked out the HIV/AIDS department, and Casualty Department, we realized that there was very little to do there. Somebody mentioned Dialysis Renewal department, we said why not, so we checked it out and we realized that the department needed so much help”, Edem Smiling Smith Added.
Edem lamented a bit on the reason behind the initiative saying that, as part of our celebration we have taken it upon ourselves to raise fifty thousand erous from now to December, with the aim of supporting the Dialysis Renewal department service and its patients.”
A look at the atmosphere and the people around, will you say that, is a crowd that you expected, entertainmentinGhana.com asked Edem Smiling Smith.
“You know what, every time 2131 is organizing a party it has always been free, this time because we decided to party for a good reason, we are grateful for the support that Ghanaian club lovers and fans of 2131 have shown so far”.
We are happy with the turn up, let me tell you, we had it in the back of minds somewhere that even if 5 people will pay to support a just course to chill, then we know we are making head way, and as you can see, the crowd is something to write home about, Edem added.
EntertainmentinGhana.com asked Edem, from now to December is a journey that needs to be covered, what are some of the other activities that are lined up for the Fund Raising project.
(With Smiles) He quickly said that, “We want to keep people in a curious mood for now; there are a lot of activities lined from now till December, fans should be finger crossed and ear opened for the next stop of the train”.
“We know they are loving this, because all of their favorite artiste are here to perform for them, Sarkodie is here, the Lynx Family is also here, EL, Scientific, Assase Aban, RANA, the little dangerous Awal Mohammed is also here, D-Black and Kwaku T is also in the building, in short is a list of endless artistes, who are all here to grace the occasion”, he pin pointed.
It is obvious that 2131 has set standard that needs to be supported, all the artiste who performed last Saturday night donated, time, energy, performance and physical cash for a worthy course and you can do same now, just visit 2131 at Osu, Blue gate and your Donations are welcome.
Remember people need to live, others are waiting for to be challenge, giving them hope for life and we should forget about those who are already gone due to the failure of kidney and preserve the lives left, hence the slogan of the company, 2131, that is Live, challenge, or forget it, meets their social responsibility.

HIPLIFE ARTISTE AKOO NANA EXCAPES A “MUGU”

The question was very simple, ‘GUYS AND GIRLS, WHO IS MORE INVOLVED IN SCAMS’, the argument was hot and there were no answers coming until one person dropped a name of a celebrity who actually has an idea as to who and, why is involve in scams.
Akoo Nana was the name that came up, simply because his Latest single titled “MUGU” is not only doing so well, it solves the argument directly.
Such a house hold name is less difficult to locate, so in anticipation to get a professional advice and response from the celebrity, entertainmentinGhana.com followed up on him.
Akoo Nana as a music celebrity has being in the music industry for a decade (10 years), his glory as an artiste came when he released “SHODY”, a song that featured Castro and Reggy Zippy. The song was well received by the loving music fans in Ghana and beyond.
That break through was a savior as it brought him to the lime light, putting him on big stages in and, across the length and breadth of the country.
His location was “Madina” with “the ma in the mix” Appiah Danquah also known as “Appietus” inside his studios, coincidentally the artiste was recording the song he titled “BOKOLO”, which relates with the “MUGU” song.
The artiste, was full of live as we told him the reason why we had come to talk to him, EntertainmentinGhana.com then asked, “Why the song MUGU to start with”.
‘MUGU’ because the young guys and girls of today hardly wants to do something substantial to survive, they want to get what they call quick leaving, Akoo Nana explained.
I believe they are naïve about the scam that they do and hope to be catching people (CLIENTS) every day to be eating from, he added.
EntertainmentinGhana.com then asked him, “so who do you think, (we mean girls and guys) is eating from the scam more.
Akoo Nana, (in a thinking mood) said, I believe both do well at it, I believe the MUGU video explains and answers this question the best, but let me say that, both do well at it.
In your video, entertainmentinGhana.com asked him, Akoo, you showed as that girls do this scam more, because ‘you saw a beautiful lady, gave her a ride and later you caught her sending the text message “I CATCH SOME MUGU”.
Let me say that, (Akoo Nana interrupted) I believe both parties are guilty here, I portrayed the lady because I believe guys always think they get the ladies on a silver platter forgetting that the ladies also do same. So here both parties are naïve, they are all thinking on the same line but the unfortunate part for the lady was that I caught her… (Akoo Nana, laughing).
Just for your fans Akoo Nana, let talk about the new album, when is it coming, because ‘MUGU’ is doing well in the industry?
The album is ready, it has 10 tracks, songs recorded by Appietus and it will be on the market very soon, but currently I am promoting the first single as you know, MUGU, the video is on TV and it was shot by Eagle Side Productions, Akoo Nana stressed on.
The second single is what I have completed, just did some touches on it, is also titled “BOKOLO ft ECHO” and for this song the video will be ready very soon. The promotional period is targeted at lasting for a two months period after which we will release the official album, Akoo Nana pointed out.
Akoo Nana whose album is untitled is very optimistic of the success of the new album, saying ‘I put my all in this album’. This is a hip life album, of course I do the hip life genre, so what album do you want me to produce, he lamented when entertainmentinGhana.com asked him his genre of music.
Known in real life as William Ankrah, who hails from the central Region, Akoo Nana is set to shine and take Ghana by storm with his power performance rate, which he has shown over the years on all stages, from TV magazines shows to events.
That was off the record, it was just for the fans, but we believe that we now have the solution to the argument, both sexes are naïve about the scams and the song ‘MUGU’ answers it the best, look out for the song ‘MUGU’ at a TV and radio station near you.
